What’s happening at Capernaum Place- Big Lake/ Monticello?
Capernaum Place-Big Lake/Monticello is temporarily located in Bridgeview Church on the border of Big Lake and Monticello where it opened in the summer of 2009! The occupational and speech therapists there are striving to make the therapy services one-of-a-kind by offering unique opportunities to children that receive therapy:
• Functional outings to the local grocery store, library and swimming pool when appropriate! Kids get a chance to work on skill areas during a functional outing with their therapist!
• The church offers an outstanding outside environment for kids to work on motor skills on a playground and field! This has also provided a neat opportunity for kids to work together and develop social skills!
• A fully equipped kitchen within the church has been a great place to work on various skills through meal preparation and household-type chores.
