Everyone has their own family tradition that make the holiday season extra special!  Here are a few…..

FOR CHRISTMAS!!
Hide the Pickle!  Hang a pickle ornament on the Christmas tree each year.  Whoever finds the pickle…..wins a prizeJ
Dinner by candlelight!  Pass “the light of Jesus” when you light one another’s candles and be reminded of the gift of Christ!
Read the Christmas Story!  Encourage your kids to help read about the reason for the season!
Sing Christmas carols!
HANUKKAH!
Play the Dreidel game!  A dreidel is a four-sided spinning top with a Hebrew letter on each side.  When you win, you get chocolate coins!
Hanukkah Helpers! are plush dolls that magically arrive in time to celebrate Hanukkah with children.  They love spinning the dreidel, eating latkes and com with a fun story! 
KWANZAA!
Ancestral Roll-cal!  Kwanzaa participants stand and tell of someone who has been a personal inspiration to them. 
Siku ya Taamulli!  This is the day of meditation and customarily, the last day of Kwanzaa.  Its intent is to give the participants a time to reflect on their lives and the lives of all Africans and African-Americans as they move into the New Year. 
RAMADAN!
Homemade calendar!  Make a Ramadan calendar with your child!
Star gazing!  Take in the night sky with your kids and share the awesomeness of the stars and moon!
OTHER IDEAS!

Holiday Walkabout!  After good eats and gift opening, a walk in the neighborhood or a Christmas scavenger hunt is a fun way to get the kids out and moving after exciting indoor time!
The Dice Game !  Do a gift exchange with a spin!  Get out a dice and timer…..and watch your relatives get wildly competitive! 
Deliver cookies at your local nursing home!
