Recently, Capernaum staff participated in a workshop entitled, “Supporting Development for Children with Developmental Disabilities through Attachment Relationships” by Corri Stuyvenberg. Corri is a physical therapist in Early Intervention for the Minneapolis Public Schools. She has her certificate in Early Childhood Mental Health and is now working on her doctorate. During the workshop we discussed types of family stressors, factors of resiliency, and strategies to help families develop resiliency in their children. “Resilience” is defined as adaption to life’s stressors.
