Capernaum occupational therapists at St. Joseph’s Home for Children have been preparing for a successful school year! They have been training staff and students on sensory tools used to stay focused, remain calm and manage frustration. St. Joseph staff/volunteers made 13 sensory bins to be implemented in the classrooms and units! (see Lisa and Shanley, our St. Joes OT's in picture above)
Kids On Stage!! gives another great performance!
Capernaum’s theater group recently had it’s end-of-the-season play for families and friends! The kids and therapists put on an outstanding show about a girl who flipped through the TV channels on a "Lazy Sunday" afternoon. Having a hard time deciding what to watch, she continually changes the channel, only briefly pausing on a mix of shows, movies, and commercials. The kids walked the red carpet and had their own Hollywood Stars!!!
Summer groups were a hit!
Social groups at New Hope and Northside, and handwriting group in Edina were truly a success with skills learned and friends made! Social groups will continue this fall at Northside!!!
