1. Hide and find dry food items in a rice, corn or bean bin or hide and find in a jello mold!
2. Paint with sauces.
3. Build houses, people, animals, etc. with foods (ie. potato or fruit/veggie people). PS. Toothpicks, peanut butter, frosting, and pudding can be used to keep things together!
4. Do science projects with food (www.sciencekids.co.nz/food.html).
5. Decorate your face plate with preferred and non-preferred foods.
6. Bring foods into water play.
7. Pretend play with foods…..banana “boat”, broccoli “tree”, apple sauce with blue food coloring as “the sea”.
8. Change aspects of preferred foods to increase food flexibility.
9. Cut out shapes in bread, dough, soft tortilla or cheese.
10. Encourage help with meal prep and clean up. Use a sticker chart for good helping!
11. Make a placemat or pick out an apron to encourage fun during meals and meal prep.
