With the passing in February of a beloved Capernaum speech therapist Brenda Knockel and a long-time Capernaum kid, sweet Elsey, we reflect on Capernaum’s motto. “Capernaum strives to go beyond therapy to help families find joy in their journey.” We’re reminded and inspired by the passion Brenda had for the children she played with each week and the relationships she developed with families. What an example she was, and continues to be, for all Capernaum therapists. We’re also reminded of the blessing of Elsey and her family as they embraced Capernaum and Capernaum embraced them. Capernaum is not only focused on providing excellent therapy services, but is most proud of the life-changing relationships that are developed.
What is a Capernaum, anyway? Capernaum is a little town on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee in Israel. There, Christ came upon the disciples arguing over who was going to be the most important ”big-shot” in heaven. Christ pulled a child over and said,” Whoever welcomes this child, not only welcomes me but the one who sent me.” He felt that the child was the most important person, and so do we, so we named our company “Capernaum Pediatric Therapy!”
